Guarding floor and wall openings and holes

by Ken Welch on 2007-03-08 19:05:15 - Email This
OSHA spells out the requirements for guarding "floor opening" in 29 CFR 1910.23. Pretty much, if there is a hole and it's 4' deep or more that any idiot could fall into, you need to guard it. Basic guards will have a 42" height and toeboards to keep objects from rolling off onto someone's head.
