So many products, how do you choose? There are steel and plastic, short and different heights, some are more intrusive of the aisle space or beam width. Bet you thought I have the perfect answer for you, but there are too many variables and who wants to read all of that? Give me a call, please review the width of your uprights, size of the base plates, style of forklift being used, aisle width, the expertise of your forklift operators, stuff like that.

While we show several products that are designed as end of aisle barriers or rack protectors, there are many guard rail products that may fit that purpose. In some cases users want a higher standing product as a guard from pallets that are floor stacked. Call with your concerns, we can help.

This week an example of the old adage that rings true today. While we try to supply drawings on all products, for clarity of our offerings, sometimes the littlest things can mess with your day. There are pallet racks constructed with different base plates for various reasons, seismic for stability reasons, bolt together designs for rack with varying capacity utilizing similar components that feature different width and/or depth base plates and probably others I haven't contemplated. Look closely to the configuration on the floor where your column protector will rest. Not all pallet racks are 3" dead even and therefore universal.

Rack uprights generally have oversized footplates to withstand shock waves associated with earthquakes.
We can adapt mant of our rack protectors to fit around these baseplates. Call with your dimensions & quantities for a special quote.
What height should I buy? Good question. What is likely to cause the damage? A load, a pallet truck, the counterweight of a forklift, the forklift forks, or something else. If operators are driving safely then the loads and forks are close to the floor; indoor counterbalanced forklifts, straddle lifts, and reach trucks have low ground clearances typically 4" or less. Many loads today are stacked beyond the confines of the pallet, so perhaps the product being moved becomes the contact point. If it's tailswing from the forklift, you need to invest in more operator training! There's not much thaty withstand pounding from those beasts. Every operation is different, a walk thru the warehouse will likely point to your solution.
